Day #28 and #29

I'm sitting here chillin with my new friend Jr. Ford. We are talkin about life and him moving from the Bronx New York up to Indiana and me moving back to Indy from Chicago. Funny how life is. When you think you are alone, its others who can relate. Anyway, I'm probably about to go back home and start on some new beats. It has been a good day so far. I hope you all checked out those two new beats that I posted up on line last night. They are FIRE and I worked really hard on them. They are a work in progress. Ahhhh! What do they say? "Another day, another dollar." Lol that's how I feel I suppose. But this is indeed a new GOOD day! Its 6:27pm. Had work today but you know that didn't stop my creative process one bit! I'm actually thankful for my job! I mean how else would I pay my outstanding bills and my studio time? Anyway, I'm in the middle of making yet another beat. Depending on how it turns out, this might just too go on my next project! But remember yesterday when I said I might have to push back th release a few days? I was dead serious! I feel like as I am pressing this month to make more music and discipline myself in this thing, all sorts of ideas and beats have been coming to my mind! I need more time to write more to keep up with all of these beats!**

Its exactly 11:58pm and I'm just now getting to my blog...lol hush! Don't say anything! I know!..Anyway, Made a beat today that I'm pretty much in love with!! Yup! think I'll put this one on the tape! Still in my final days! Shoot I might have to push this mixtape back just a few more days after August 31st...Seriously! All these creative ideas are just popping up outta no where! I cant complain! I feel what I do is the future! ...And most importantly, its right now! Im one of those now or never kinda fokes. Here I am up late refining my plan. Thinking and working. Its not really that late but I started this beat this morning around 2am, went to sleep, went through the day and around 6pm I got to it and completed it. Some of these tracks I just wanted to put up randomly over these last 30 days but I like some of my creations so much that I might have to put them on this project! I know you are wondering where the music is I am working so hard on everyday. Lol! No excuses, I am adding bits and pieces to my work. Well, I am about to get back to work!

Day #19/#20 Remix

What's good world? Let me tell you my current location....I'm at work! Haha, I don't stay looking good doing nothing! Kidding. Well, I had such a long day yesterday that I wasn't able to do my Day #19 blog. I also didn't even get a chance to make any music for that matter. So today is a double dose of fun. LoL! I made a beat this morning before I came to work. So currently that's what's playing as my background music as I write this. Well its other music playing in the store but my phone is pretty sweet so I'm listening to it from there. As the time ticks away for my release of The Journey I can really feel the pressure of me no even having half of the songs selected to put on there! There's just so much stuff I haven't recorded in the studio yet!! Ahhhh! That's how I feel right now. This is my lifes work and I'm def behind. So in other words, its CRUNCH TIME for me!!! Just 12 more days..12 more days! If I didn't already mention...This one is completely different from my first project athough my first project did influence this one in a tremendous way!

Here I am again. Working on another beat in the late night. Lol. My beats that I have been making don't come out sounding the greatest but I am learning a lot about making beats and how to properly put them together. I am def enjoying this month and the challange I've put myself too. This is truly a mind blowing experience and after this 30 days and 30 nights quest is up I will still continue to profect my craft. I'm working on learning to mix my own vocals during this mini self imposed process. Youtube has been a huge help with my learning! But yeah so when Day #19 comes I will finally post up some music....Which it basically in a few hours. Anyway, I'm off to working on this beat.holla and get ready world. ;)

Its 9am in the morning. I've been up longer. I'm just taking a look around on a few music websites checking out the latest news. I gotta commend any artisit who's made the news on stuff like how much they are going to spend on something. I'd rather be in the news for that if not something heroic like. Lol. But yeah, I'm making music that is kind of getting everything out of me. This whole two weeks has been a cleansing process for me. I'm folowing my heart and it feels releiving. I have sooo much work to do! But that's ok. I did sign up for this. I def need to get my frestyle game right tho. Lol. If you all didn't know, I'm not the best freestyler. Haha. I have tried on many occassions. I'm getting better tho. But anyway....Think I'll take a stab at making a new beat today.****

I feel like i've been putting in over time. But you know what? I feel I need to push myself more. There is so much hard work that needs to be done. I often have to realize that I can't use music as a get away. That's how I feel I've been sort of acting these last past few days. Like I got to remember I have a normal life like paying these college bills and other living bills. But at the same time ...This is my life. Feel me? A big shout out to my friends and family who support me in everything I do. It feels good to know that. Its 8:58am. This is day 15, 13 and 14 I spent either at work or here in my abode, trying to cook something up. Anyway, I'm out. ;)

Day #10

Its day ten..and oh my goodness do I feel the pressure.. yesterday #9 was a real struggle! But yet and still I did attempt to make a beat. Today I wrote too and produced a new track which I am pretty excited about. Its just me expressing my feelings about a few situations I have found myself in. But I cant give too much away because I will be putting this one on my mixtape. I think I want at least 14 tracks on there if not more. All I can say is that no matter who ignores me, disses me, or just flat out is not fucking with my music, I dont care. I am building up my tolerance and it feels very good to be able to make music everyday the real way I want too. I just got a feeling..a very good one about where I am headed. And I cant stop and wont stop now or ever. Well its about 10pm here. I am about to finish up this song now. I am super geeked that I can actually make a full song in a few hours now, where it use to take me days or sometimes weeks. I am improving and thats what I am most happy about. I am better then I was yesterday. Ill see you all tomorrow. ;)

Day #8

Its 8:30pm on a Monday night. Day 8 of my 30 days and 30 nights journey. I've been puttinh some work in on everyday although my internet is still down. Don't you guys think for one second that I haven't been on my p's and q's. It has been a struggle to work on making a beat and a song everyday bu I need to do this in order to challange myself as a developing artist. I am really excited to let you all hear what I've got so far. Bare with me fokes. TendSetterTina is on a real selfmade mission here. I have been meeting other great artists around the city and let me tell you it is exciting to be able to see what they do and how they do it. All I can really be is thankful because its teaching me a key lesson "work harder". Right now I have been really in my juke beat making mode. But as I should, I need to get back to work. What's good everyone? First I know you want to know where in the hell have I been and where is all of that music between day 1 and day 7 at??? Am I right? Lol I have all of it. My internet has been down for the last few days. You know how it is sometimes. So hopefully very soon these people will fix it and I will be able to share it with you. Got a few surprises that might shock some people but it is what it is and that's my art! I appologize in advance. Haha I have been pushing more towards juke music over the last past few days. I love the sound of it and I am allowing myself to be as experimental and creative as possible. You will hear a lot of my beats in this as well. Day #7

30 Days and 30 Nights: day #1

Its about 2 in the afternnon right now. I just finsished up my first rap in my 30 day journey. I feel good that I was able to get it done and mix it down. I feel a little ready, but a little nervous about it, almost overwhelmed. I'm excited to actually be doing something like this. It feels good to say I am doing it. It's like a fight against myself. lol. I def got my inspiration from ths one thinking about a lot of different things and the history I have been researching. 30 Days and 30 Nights

It's been a few months since I've got back on here. I apologize. I've been pretty busy, but not too busy. My second mixtape is about to drop here on August 31 of 2011. Thats just 30 days from today! I have set this date in my head and in stone to have "The Journey" out on the internet for free download that day. But as I was pondering the thought of my impact on the internet and in the musical world, I came accross an idea. "30 Days and 30' Nights" What that is, is that I have decided that EVERYDAY I will post up a new song for 30 days until the release of my second mixtape. Sounds crazy huh? Well, I've decided that I will live for this! And this is what I am going to do. So starting tomorrow (8/01/2011) I will post up a new song. Now the song I do on some days may be very short or very long depending on my mood that day. But you the listener can get a first hand listen to what I am doing. I will be recording out of my home studio so the sound quality might not be as good as my actual mixtape, but I vow to keep my word!

I will most likely post the songs on my soundclick page, my youtube channel, and my facebook supporter page. Possibly make my own beats and everything. I feel this deep passion inside of me for this so I am going to take a chance and roll with it. It's risky I know. But I don't care. I love doing this.

Young Women Of Hip Hop Coming Together

Whats up people? It's def a chill night for me indeed. So I've been up browsing the internet as usual looking for or rather running into, so many talented female MC's! I have seen a good 15-20 if not more female mc's out here grinding in the internet world. I've been dong my research and I believe we as female MC's could have a big impact on the world if we came together.

I would love to collab with some of these amazing talented women that I have seen and heard thus far! Some of them live right here in America and others live in places like the UK and such. I believe we have so much to give and show the world as women. We may be small in number but we would be quite powerful if we came together and did more collaborations. I think the whole "women are too catty and jealous of one another to collab" idea should be thrown out the window. Put it like this, "If your art is hot, and you think my art is hot, let's work together!" After all this is our generation and our time to shine! I believe there is enough to go around for everyone!

I'll give you a small and incomplete list of women I'd love to come to an acquaintance with and work with one day in the industry, underground or mainstream. I love all of it and all of them inspire me to do me in my own rhyme's. It's raw talent and I appreciate all of these lovely and dynamic ladies for having the BALL'S to step up and let their voices be heard around the world through hip hop.

I'm the type of woman to show love, because we all need that in our lives. Not only that, but these ladies are truly blessed! I mean some of these girl's flows are undeniable, and I'm actually wondering why a lot of them haven't gotten signed yet! But even in that case, a lot of artists are finding out that to do their thing, they don't even need a label! I mean I found these girls by just looking around on the web! I didn't need to go to a record label site to find them. ANd they have thousands of followers behind them. So that is living proof that they grind hard and gain fan's through the internet.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to all of the women of hip hop who have passed the mic on and those who currently have the mic in their hands. Hey! If you run across this blog know that you've got my support! Real Talk!

These ladies make me proud to say I am a rapper! All of them bring something different to the table and all have great strength! There are sooooo many more women out there who go hard in the paint that I did not name in the list above!! And thank God for the one's who have gone before us (Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, etc.) because people like her paved the way for us today who are coming up in the game.

Some of these ladies have been on their grind for years! Others not that long, but we all are BEAUTIFUL QUEENS with the gift of gab! I hope a lot of them get out there and get big so the world can see different sides to women's hip hop! I know it's a tight risk for these record labels.

I want to have a way where I can collab with some of these ladies...We have strength in numbers and I think a lot of younger women need to see more positive female figures in todays societies. And being that the african american hip hop culture is a great way to influence, we should work together. I also think it would be a great way to promote one another as female artists. I don't think it should be just one woman out there repping for ALL of US because I know it can be tough! Plus we are so colorful in our expressions, it cannot be contained in just one way.

BIG UP's to Nicki Minaj. She's doing her thing and is the main focus in the woman's rap game at this time. I think she is doing a good job, and I'd work with her in a heart beat. I don't think it wouldn't hurt the world to see other ladies doing their thing as well. SO ladies, lets support one another! after all......We are all that we've got! Hit me up!*******

Let The Nay Sayers and Hater's Talk!

What's up everyone? I hope all is well on your end! I just wanted to again, thank everyone who is actually taking the time out to find out about who I am and what I do. If you happen to run past this blog, I am an up and coming female MC. Not only that, I am an aspiring interior designer who is in school working on obtaining my degree. For just a brief..And I mean very BRIEF moment, I want to let you know, that if you have a dream of becoming a GREAT person I encourage you to go for it! If you wait on that perfect moment you will probably be waiting for a very long time! Now I know that everyone isn't going to like my music and what I rap about, but understand, that is a choice that you the listener must make! I've already made up my mind that this is what I DO! When you reach for a goal, there will be thousands of people who will not understand you or what you have to say, but that means it's not ment for them to understand it or like it. What does it take to Be A "MainStream" Female Mc?

Whats poppin fokes! It's Monday afternoon and you know I'm well into my day. I'd like to take some time to pose a question that I think will turn out to have some interesting responses. This one is concerning Female Mc's. We are everywhere these days. If you do your research you will find that there are hundreds if not thousands of women who rap, but may not get the "credit" they necessarily are deserving of. I am myself an underground lady spitter and feel that there are some sterotypes of women rappers that block our diversity in the rapping community. The one statement I seem to get the most is that a lady has to have "sex appeal" in order to "make it" into the mainstream sence. I understand that the rappers stage is a male dominated industry and it's also cut throat so to speak. This genre of music has also become very, very, competitive. Doesn't sexiness come in different forms? What one person might consider to be sexy another person may not. Or is it that the general public has been brain washed into believing that "This is the way it's suppose to be done"? Here is the question I want you all to take a stab at: "What qualities do you think a female Mc needs to posses in order to be a mainstream artist these days?" Hello Year 2011!!! New And Bigger Accomplishments!!

Today is January 1, 2011. I know everyone is wondering what will it bring you? Honestly I believe that 2011 will bring you what you give it! Grind hard and do your grassroots campaign and reap the fruits of your labor in due time. I feel like this year will bring me much much more of a higher level of exposure with my music and talents. Thank God I am in college as well! I am working on my internet marketing and my second mixtape entitled "The Journey" . I know you all have been waiting on it. And trust me when I say that this one you will enjoy! I've delayed on dropping it because I want to put some of my very own production on this one. I do this because I love it. I do it because you love it too! Friends, fan's, and supporters make this year your year! Own 2011! No one can lead this year in the direction that it will go in but you! Even if you feel you don't have enough resources to get out there, do your best with what you have! That's exactly what I'm doing!
