What does it take to Be A "MainStream" Female Mc?

Whats poppin fokes! It's Monday afternoon and you know I'm well into my day. I'd like to take some time to pose a question that I think will turn out to have some interesting responses. This one is concerning Female Mc's. We are everywhere these days. If you do your research you will find that there are hundreds if not thousands of women who rap, but may not get the "credit" they necessarily are deserving of. I am myself an underground lady spitter and feel that there are some sterotypes of women rappers that block our diversity in the rapping community. The one statement I seem to get the most is that a lady has to have "sex appeal" in order to "make it" into the mainstream sence. I understand that the rappers stage is a male dominated industry and it's also cut throat so to speak. This genre of music has also become very, very, competitive. Doesn't sexiness come in different forms? What one person might consider to be sexy another person may not. Or is it that the general public has been brain washed into believing that "This is the way it's suppose to be done"? Here is the question I want you all to take a stab at: "What qualities do you think a female Mc needs to posses in order to be a mainstream artist these days?" Hello Year 2011!!! New And Bigger Accomplishments!!

Today is January 1, 2011. I know everyone is wondering what will it bring you? Honestly I believe that 2011 will bring you what you give it! Grind hard and do your grassroots campaign and reap the fruits of your labor in due time. I feel like this year will bring me much much more of a higher level of exposure with my music and talents. Thank God I am in college as well! I am working on my internet marketing and my second mixtape entitled "The Journey" . I know you all have been waiting on it. And trust me when I say that this one you will enjoy! I've delayed on dropping it because I want to put some of my very own production on this one. I do this because I love it. I do it because you love it too! Friends, fan's, and supporters make this year your year! Own 2011! No one can lead this year in the direction that it will go in but you! Even if you feel you don't have enough resources to get out there, do your best with what you have! That's exactly what I'm doing! I'd like to get my twitter following up to 20,000 followers before this year is out! Not just any old body, but I'd like for those who follow me to support my music aspirations as well! Sound's crazy but it is possible! I actually have some what of a sketchy plan as of how I will do it. I know that as long as I stick to it, I am bound to see the results I've been looking for!
